Mermaids to the Rescue ! Gizella sat at the door of the Coast Guard rescue helicopter, and surveyed the scene below. The fishing vessel Santurce rolled sluggishly from side to side in the heavy swells, and it's rigging meant each crewman would have to jump into the water and make it well clear before they could helped into the basket and be lifted to safety. Gizella felt some nervousness, but was cautiously confident as well. This was her first mission as a rescue swimmer, yet possibly no one was better prepared to tackle the task at hand than she was. She turned to face Yuki, her teammate, and signaled 'are you ready?' The noise of the overhead rotors made normal conversation impossible while the door was open. When Yuki responded 'yes', Gizella motioned to the pilot that they ready to go. The pilot reduced altitude until they were barely fifteen feet above the water, then both rescue swimmers went in.

A Merman's Tale 14Chapter 14: Southbound
We had spoken with Bruce and his family a couple times since Sunday, becoming more aquainted and fine-tuning our plans for Friday, when we mermen would visit the day care center in Havelock Gizella and Yuki had visited on Monday. Bruce told us he had been sleeping in the family pool since Tuesday, when his father had put a chlorine neutralizer into the water, and found it to be even more comfortable than his bed. The pool was too small for jumping, but his parents and siblings would be thrilled whenever he did some tail dancing; the children at the day care center had been especially impressed when Yuki and Gizella did so during their own visit there.
Bruce arrived with his parents (Russ had decided to join his wife for their afternoon house-hunting) mid morning on Friday. After some small talk and chatter regarding our upcoming gig, the four of us got into my car, and headed for Havelock. Kate sat in the front passenger seat, her sister was about to get her

A Merman's Tale 13Chapter 13: A Belated Thanksgiving
I have to admit I started feeling a little nervous after Brian and Gizella left to get her car. When I had called Steve Thanksgiving evening, following our dinner with Dan and his family, he had assured me his wife Linda and their four kids were all eager to see me and my new mermaid friends. He had given me the same assurances every time we had spoken since then, but that was now not enough to prevent me from getting butterflies in my stomach. I wondered 'would the kids really be comfortable with me as I now was, with my tail, eyebrows and pointy ears?' let alone a whole school of Mers, one of whom had pointed ears of her own and could not dress as the rest of us could.
I need not have worried. About ten minutes after Brian and Gizella left, my cell phone went off, the caller was Steve himself.
"How are you doing Harry?"
"Pretty good, actually."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"How is the trip down going?"
"We're already settled in here. Dad i
Harry Scott's Kubla Con Photo List Harry Scott was a hobbyist photographer of many years experience when he arrived in Orlando on the eve of the Kubla Con and was recruited by the Flying Penguins, a cosplay group that practiced their craft with a somewhat comedic bent.
Once the convention got under way, Harry continued his photography, snapping nearly two hundred photos until just before the Xanadu Event. Unlike many others, his camera survived the chaos and was returned to it's owner a few days later. When he and some friends eventually looked over his photos on a computer they urged him to email them to the Orlando Convention Center's Xanadu desk, in hopes they might help identify some attendees who remained unaccounted for nearly a month after the Event.
Harry made no attempt to sample everything at the Kubla Con; for example he did not photograph a single Pokemon all weekend. Instead he favored Star Trek, Star Wars, toons, and pirates, espeially on Friday. However, many genre not favored by him could be seen i
A Week Of KissesA Week Of Kisses
The first day I told you I loved you,
I imagined kissing your shoulder,
Well before I thought about your lips.
Because I don’t know what I am doing, firstly,
But more importantly,
It’s because I know things can spiral quickly,
If things start shifting
After we lay down the concrete.
So I kiss the foundation,
Before we reach the soil.
The second day I told you I loved you,
I imagined kissing your elbow,
Because it holds together the touch
And the flex.
To exhibit it,
I must kiss the joint that bends
And combines us together.
The third day I told you I loved you,
I lay my lips to your temples,
As I learned about the temple of reform,
For the Youth in North America.
Kissing you there signifying I will protect you,
As well as your temple,
As we re-form, into something more.
The fourth day I told you I loved you,
I’d kiss you softly on your forehead.
Because that’s what holds your brillian
